Theory!!

We had a theory lesson today and we worked on what we will be doing for our cupcake assignment ! Sammy found these great tea cup cupcakes that look great, and i hope she does them ! I am going to be decorating my vanilla cupcakes will white paper cups to put them in and half of them with pink icing and sugar lollies and 3/6 will have O's and the other 3/6 with have X's and this will be called Hugs & Kisses. The other half of my batch of cupcakes will be decorated with a baby purple coloured icing with white paper cups and little flowers~ this design will be appropriate for a young girls birthday party.

Lemon & Caramel Tarts

At the start of the lesson we had to get into a group of 4- Sammy, Bronte, Zooha & myself. One group would make the lemon and the other would make the caramel, Bronte & Zooha made the lemon and Sammy & I made the caramel ones. They were very delicious and the caramels were my personal favourite.

Pizza Scrolls

Pizza Scrolls were really good! We made them today and I will be making them in the near future. There was not many ingredients that were needed and it was very simple and a great snack to have when you're feeling peckish !

Meringues!

We made meringues and they were a nice treat but i didn't enjoy them that much as they are full of sugar and made me feel a bit sick. They were easy to make and it helped me gain knowledge on how bakeries etc make them because i have also wondered.

Brownies

We made brownies today, they tasted great! They were easy to make and i'm sure i will be making them at home soon...they were crispy on the outside and warm and moist in the middle from the oven.They were amazing.

Theory

This lesson was possibly the best lesson, we found out that next lesson we will be cooking waffles! In the next lesson we prepared our waffles and gathered our ingredients then when the mix was ready we added it to the waffle maker and when they were finished we added strawberries, maypole syrup and ice cream! It was delicious.

Eggs

Today we had another lesson on eggs! We completed the egg sheets we were given to fill out in the previous lesson and we watched a few clips showing how to use egg whites in cooking.

Eggs

We had a lesson on eggs today. We went down to the cafe and opened an egg and examined all the different parts of an egg- shell,yolk,germ, white and the air sac. After we examined the eggs and learnt how to tell if one is stale or fresh we filled it out sheets off blackboard. This was a great lesson!

Pasta

Today with made Pasta with spring vegetables. The recipe was quite easy we started off with cooking the pasta in boiling water, then when we thought the pasta was cooked we tasted it and checked. We then continued to cut up the ham and vegetables and then cooked them with the frying pan for 2 minutes, drained the pasta then shortly after we added all the ingredients to the pot and added the cream and stirred and then the pasta was ready ! it was delicious and we ate it before cross country which gave me energy.

Theory

Today we had a theory lesson and we used a program called food choices. We were given a sheet by Mrs George which has a table where we could record what we have been eating to maintain a healthy diet. This was very enjoyable and interesting as their was a nutritional analysis.
